چکیده

Abstract The present work performs a numerical analysis of the geometrical investigation two-dimensional channel with two alternated isothermal rectangular blocks subjected to turbulent forced convective flows. Constructal Design associated Exhaustive Search is used investigate influence geometry over performance cooling flows in multi-objective viewpoint, i.e., considering pressure drop and heat transfer rate. time-averaged equations continuity, momentum, energy conservation are solved finite volume method. k – $$\omega $$ ω shear stress transport model for closure turbulence. effect proposed degrees freedom, height/length ratio ( $$H_{1}/L_{1}$$ H 1 / L $$H_{2}/L_{2})$$ 2 ) , analyzed relation objectives. Regarding thermal purpose, highest insertion into led best performance, while opposite configuration fluid dynamic performance. This behavior was similar that previously found literature laminar For perspective, use technique order preference by similarity ideal solution indicated asymmetric when both indicators had same weight.

Experimental Investigation of Forced Convective Heat Transfer in Rectangular Micro-channels

This paper investigates the experimental program on the study of heat transfer characteristics in micro-channels. The two test sections used are of 47 and 50 micro-channels in rectangular cross-section of equivalent diameters 387 and 327 μm respectively. Each channel of length 192 mm is fabricated on a 304 stainless steel substrate (230 mm x 160 mm x 1.6 mm) by photo chemical etching process. C...

Entropy Generation In an Unsteady MHD Channel Flow With Navier Slip and Asymmetric Convective Cooling

The combined effects of magnetic field, Navier slip and convective heating on the entropy generation in a flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid between two infinite horizontal parallel plates under a constant pressure gradient have been examined. Both the lower and upper plates of the channel are subjected to asymmetric convective heat exchange with the ambient fluid. T...

Turbulent Flow in Geophysical Channels

The problem of turbulent flow in a rough pipe of arbitrary shape is considered. The classical Izakson-Millikan argument for a logarithmic velocity profile is presented, and matched asymptotic expansions are introduced. Scaled, dimensionless equations are produced and simplified. A simple mixing length turbulence model is presented, which closes the problem. To calibrate the model, the mechanica...

Numerical study of turbulent forced convection jet flow of nanofluid in a converging sinusoidal channel

Research in convective heat transfer using suspensions of nanometer-sized solid particles in base liquids started only over the past decade. Recent investigations on nanofluid, as such suspensions are often called, indicate that the suspended nanoparticles remarkably change the transport properties and heat transfer characteristics of the suspension. Bending walls can also improve heat transfer...
